We trust people who can remain calm and de-escalate drama.

Conflict is a natural by-product of collaboration.

Avoiding conflict creates conflict.

Don't avoid conflict. Learn to navigate it and keep it healthy with respect.

Conflict-avoidant people don't make good leaders.

What team members want most from their leader is clarity.

Nothing costs more in life than a predetermined belief that things won't work out.

High-impact people believe amazing things can happen even when they fail.

If you don't believe in yourself or your product, we're never gonna make it.

People with a growth-mindset make the best teammates.

Good leaders cast a vision that excites and unites a team.

People are attracted to a mission. Give them one worth their time and energy.

Value-driven professionals know how to manage time.

Understanding how a business works increases your personal economic value.

Most businesses' websites overwhelm their visitors with bad design, irrelevant information, and poor copy.

When you confuse, you lose.

No one cares that your grandfather founded the company. (We ❤️ you, grandpa!)

They care that you can solve their problem as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Every successful person has a bias toward action.

A clear message inspires action.

Clarify your message and you will sell more product.

Selling is about clearly explaining to a person how your product or service can solve their problem...

...and then guiding them through a process that leads them to buy your product or service.

Customers are looking for a guide who can help them win the day. Be that guide.

Most people's life stories are dictated by friends, family, and/or mass media.

Take control of your own story.

Stay alert, stay educated, stay cool.

INFLATION OR DEFLATION?

Nancy Lazar, the chief global economist at Piper Sandler, and Cathie Wood, the CEO/CIO of Ark Invest, have seen a lot of market cycles, so when they got together late last week to discuss current macroeconomic trends, I was all ears.

All economists have access to the same data, but different economists place different emphasis on certain variables at certain points in the cycle.

The mainstream narrative of "we're back in a 1970s environment with inflation baked into the cake, making it very difficult to dislodge it" is one perspective.

But there's another perspective that says "we're going to see deflationary forces unlike any we've ever seen at the end of all this economic uncertainty".

I have no idea which perspective is right, but I found Nancy and Cathie's conversation to be candid, informative, and definitely something to think about.

(Full disclosure: I'm a major Cathie Wood fan boy 😊)

It's hard to imagine what a deflationary world could look like cause we've lived in an inflationary world for so long, but I'm here for it.
